Before the advent of computers and the popularity of email, scripts were printed out and couriered all over the city of Los Angeles.
These printed screenplays were held together by genuine ACCO #6 Solid Brass Fasteners (brads) for features and ACCO#5 brads for teleplays.
Screenplays were three-hole punched and one brad was placed in the top hole and a second brad was placed in the bottom hole. The middle hole was always left empty.
